Lessons on the Violin

Taking lessons on the violin is not as hard or as expensive as you may have thought. This is especially true if you have a computer and access to the internet. There are a number of choices for violin lessons which are available there. These sites normally provide the student with a selection of several (about 10) individual lessons. The entire lesson set is often less that a single lesson at a violin class or for individual lessons. The cost of the internet based lessons varies among the different presenters and is not necessarily based on the quality of the instruction. There are quality lesson sets available for less than $30.00 for the entire sat of lessons. A well developed violin lessen set will contain lessons which teach the individual the various styles available to Violinists. These are Classical. Jazz, Country, Bluegrass and Modern styles. The lesson set will contain video as well as audio components. This provides the student with the quality of sound needed to equal that of the instructor. The instructor should be an experienced professional artist. The video component shows the student the proper finger movements on the strings and indicates the best use of the bow. The practice instruction allows the student to achieve the level of quality that is contained in the lesson. One set of lessons stands out. This series if performed by Eric Lewis who is violinist for the Manhattan String Quartet. He has more than 30 years experience as a violinist.
