Learning to Use a Violin

By Morgan Bryan

There are two ways to learn how to play the violin. The first of these is by individual instruction from a teacher to an individual or to a group. The second method is to learn from a DVD or from a computer download.

While a computer is required for the second method, it turns out to be by far the better of the two choices. This is because the latter method is priced per series of several lessons, while the first choice will cost a certain amount per lesson. The price of purchase for the computerize version is often less than the cost of one lesson under the individual instructor version.

Other advantages of the computerized lesson series is that you will learn all styles and be able to see the exact finger and bow positioning required. You will also receive the scales and other practice disciplines needed for skill improvement. From the audio you will hear the music as you practice so you can compare the sound that you produce. Imagine the surprise of your friends and relatives when you play their favorite songs in the style that they enjoy the most.

As you take your lessons, the experience and music mastery of your instructor will become evident. These attributes will be evident in the quality of the sound which you hear.
There is one set of violin lessons which is produced by Eric Lewis of the Manhattan String Quartet. This series of eleven individual sets of instruction is available for less than $30.00. That is a very affordable price for such high quality content.
